How to configure opening hours

How to configure opening hours

In Magic IP, you can define specific opening hours for your company, as well as schedule breaks such as lunch time, during which calls will be handled differently. This gives you full control over how incoming calls are managed throughout the day and week.

1. Configure opening hours

In the Magic IP interface, go to the Business hours section. You will have two main options:

  • 24/7 open: Select this option if you want calls to be handled the same way at all times.
  • Custom hours: This allows you to manage incoming calls based on specific time slots.

If you choose Custom hours, you can configure opening days and hours for each day of the week.

Here's how to adjust your schedule:

  • Tick the days your business is open (e.g., Monday to Friday).
  • Set the opening hours for each day. For example, you can set Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and a different slot for Wednesday such as 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

By clicking one of the fields, you can specify the time down to the minute.

2. Add a lunch break

For those who close during lunch, Magic IP also allows you to manage this time slot. Here's how to activate and configure this option:

  • Check the box Are you closed during lunch?
  • Set the start and end times of the break. For example, your office can be closed from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

Then, don’t forget to configure the call route to use during the lunch break. This allows incoming calls to be redirected to voicemail or another number during that time slot.

3. Save changes

Once you’ve configured your opening hours and lunch break, click Save changes to validate your setup. This ensures that calls are handled according to the defined schedule, with appropriate redirections when your office is closed.
